On what started out to be a warm sunny day I won the toss and decided to bat first. Matt and Geoff opened the innings and took the score to 46 before Geoff fell caught behind with the score on 46. A few overs later things were not looking good as we Slumped to 68-4 with Matt (39) Gingsy (0) and Steve (0) all falling to Beaulieu newcomer S.Gore. At the crease were Clive and Paul H who took matters under control and both scoring freely soon put on 120 for the 5th wicket before both surrendering their wickets in the run chase of the last few overs Clive (79) and Paul (51). We finished on a total of 211-6 with Sean scoring a quick fire ten in the last over.

After a superb tea it was our turn to take to the field but by this time there was cold wind and a light drizzle. But good old Pilgrim spirit we carried on with Lee H opening the bowling with Clive we soon had Beaulieu 43-3, Clive 1 wicket and Lee 2 wickets for just 8 runs doing the early damage. Paul H came on for Clive and took a wicket in his first spell. Then it was the turn of the Damen brothers who between them bowled a great spell with Sean picking up another two wickets. But for me it was Steve's day and after 7 of his 8 overs had given away just 23 runs and so unlucky not to get a wicket himself. Martin came on for 3 overs and only gave away 10 runs before Paul H came back on at the other end to take 2-20 and Nick 3 overs for just 6 runs. At the end Beaulieu amassed 175 for the loss of eight wickets with a good knock from Skipper Malone. Another great day at Beaulieu and now to the last game of the season at Swanage
